Murfreesboro, TN — Amy Painter has been named the new executive director of Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee starting April 14. Painter has served the nonprofit milk bank as marketing director since 2022. Co-Founder, Susan Campbell, MD, IBCLC is retiring as executive director but will continue to serve the organization as Medical Director.
“It has been a true honor to work under Dr. Campbell. She has dedicated her life serving the tiniest and most medically fragile babies. Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee would not exist if it were not for her dedication, passion and expertise. I have large shoes to fill but I look forward to building on the firm foundation that she and others established,” said Painter.
Painter is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. She also obtained an advanced certificate in grant writing from Indiana University and completed her certificate in nonprofit leadership from Texas A&M. Prior to her service at Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee, Painter worked at the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties for six years where she served in development and marketing roles.
Painter initially began her service at Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee as a milk donor after the birth of her second daughter. “I could have never imagined that one simple conversation about becoming a milk donor with my obstetrician, Dr. Valerie Parker would eventually lead me to a fulfilling career making an impact on babies and their families,” said Painter.
